Depending on the breed of dog you have, you will need to take your dog to a groomer to have their fur trimmed every few weeks

regardless of if you need to take your dog to a groomer or not your dog can still benefit from these regular grooming habits.

Brushing

goldendoodles require frequent grooming from a professional groomer to keep their coats from getting long and matted,

but they will still benefit from frequent brushing, about once a day to every other day.

our favorite brushes are:

it is also helpful to have a pair of scissors whenever you're grooming your dog as your dog may have small tangles in his coat that need to be cut off.

we recommend these scissors with rounded ends to avoid accidently stabbing your dog.

you may need to trim the hair around your puppy's eyes as they will get into, their eyes and cause irritation.

Bathing

most dogs don't need a bath very often, bathing your puppy to often can cause dry skin and irritations

so, unless your puppy decides to have some fun and play in the mud or they start smelling bad you won't need to give them a bath.

whenever your puppy needs a bath, you can start by wetting their coat with warm water, make sure the water is not hot or cold, only warm,

puppies don't like having a hot bath like you and I do, if the water is too hot or cold it will be unpleasant for your puppy,

making bath time a stressful experience for both you and your puppy.

after your puppy's coat is thoroughly wet you can apply a natural shampoo (such as this one) be sure to rinse thoroughly!

using a natural shampoo will help prevent skin and eye irritations.

you can use a blow dryer to dry your puppy's coat, this will give them a soft and fluffy coat.

most of our puppies are accustomed to a blow dryer, but it may still take some time for your puppy to get comfortable with a blow dryer.

Nail Trimming

Your puppy will occasionally need their nails trimmed here is a link to specialized clippers to make the process easier!

Ear Cleaning

keeping your puppy's ears clean is essential for preventing ear infections.

cleaning your puppy's ears is super easy!

simply use one of these wipes and gently clean the inside of your puppy's ears, you can use a Q-Tip to get the ear wax that is in the grooves of your puppy's ear.

you can finish by adding a small amount of this ear rinse directly into your puppy's ear.
